So I delved into a film called Brainscan, and a good bit of my horror friends talked how it was an underrated gem. After viewing the film, I am inclined to agree with that statement.
The plot is about a teenaged boy who discovers a new game called Brainscan where he assumes the role of killer and carries out various murders. He assumes everything is just in the game but then learns it is all happening for real. He must find a way to escape the tricky web he is caught in.
So there are definite horror references throughout the movie, with the boy being a part of a horror club at school. As interesting as everything is, it is made so much better with the appearance of the villian known as the Trickster. This guy makes the movie with every scene he pops in.
The soundtrack is another positive factor of the movie with George S. Clinton providing the instrumentation with metal tracks thrown in as well.
Definitely worth watching, and should get more attention than it has gotten. The movie is currently streaming on Tubi, so now is the time to check Brainscan out for yourself!
Till next time, stay scared!
