STAT1STICK is the latest artist signed to Pittsburgh based label Brutal Business Entertainment and it is easy to see why as he has that unique sound to their music. Best way to describe it is ethereal electronic progressive industrial rock bliss. What is really amazing is everything from the music to the videos is created by one man.
His latest single “Technetium” was originally recorded in the year 2000 using only two cassette recorders, and a two channel DJ mixer. In 2004, the song was repurposed using a computer to re-record it, and was included on a few of his compilation albums. Then in 2021, the song was still on his mind, so he re-recorded it and remastered it into the version that you see today.
The video is top notch quality where a woman in laying in a hospital bed, experiencing visions of her searching through an an abandoned building. Technetium is the lightest chemical element who isotopes are all radioactive, so it is possible that the song and video suggest toxicity with oneself, and trying to dispel yourself of that. The song is a slow heavy and one of his longest, building up to a climatic finish in the end. One thing I noticed is most of his music has a message, and it is up to the listener to interpret the meanings within.
