Abel Autopsy speaks from the abyss

Being one who thoroughly enjoys horror scores and dark ambient soundtracks, Abel Autopsy looked like they had something right up my alley with their full length debut known as uunder. It is the first of a three part series, and this interation would be taking us through the spirit realms. The album art is just something nightmarish in itself but gives us an idea of what we might be in for.

So i strapped myself in, turned off all the lights, put on headphones, and let the music guide me on my spooky journey.

It was a short trip,  only 9 tracks, but my initial reaction was it was very haunting. It had those dark gritty beats. It sounded like a cacophony from hell. Yeah it would fit well in a horror film or a horror game.  There was a dark ethereal vibe, even eldritch tones in the songs you will hear. It had that witchy kind of aura about it.  Some of my favorites tracks are “forestfog”, “gates”, the title track “uunder”, “mycenae”, and “nihill”. That last track will leave you feeling maybe a bit unnerved. It was a great way to finish out on however.

In all, if you are a fan of horror, or like dark ambient soundscapes, and you want something obscure, then this is right up your alley. The album is available on their official Bandcamp if you want to get a copy and you can find it streaming on all music platforms.

Definitely keep an eye on them for future releases to come!

Till next time,
