Mike Cleopatra casts Magic Missiles

After toiling away in his secret labratory, Mike Cleopatra is ready to present his labor of love with a debut album called Abracadabra. None of us was ready for the heat about to come from this. You may know him as a wordsmith from his movie reviews, and he really flexes his lyrical prowess to show us the next level. The way he described the album is that it was a dark joke of being a suicide note where he literally says abracadbra and then disappears. That is really deep and shows just how raw this material will be,

Containing 19 tracks, this album is very meaty. Each song uncovers the next step in the story within.  There is a instrumental chill out moment right in the middle. It covers topics such as loss, depression, and just really trying to survive the day. You might just as surprised as I was to find out he has bars. The flows are very tight. The melodies, the beats, and the execution are all pretty great. It is a mix of everything going from chill lo-fi tracks then turning it up to going hard and angry. If you enjoy horrorcore and/or nerdcore, then this album will land well with you.

As far as favorite tracks, I would nominate “Bite Me”, “Alazakazam”, “Roar of the Brazen Bull”, “Buried Under the Porch”, “Mountain Goat, “You Dont Listen” and “Alchemy”.

The album drops today, and you can go grab it here. Highly recommend checking it out!

Check out the video for “Bite Me” if you want a little preview of what you will be in for.
