Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish are known for their grandiose albums, and their newest album Human:||:Nature, which released on April 10th, is definitely the very definition of that. This is technically a double album, except with a unique twist. The second disc contains one whole song that is broken up into 8 parts. Their closing tracks are usually the longest, and Nightwish really put their all into their longest song yet.
Human:||Nature is a concept album, exploring themes of humanity existing within nature, and this is all done with epic instrumentation and the beautiful vocals of Floor Jansen. She really gives it her all on this albums, proving she is very versatile as far as delivery goes. She can go from operatic singing to growling, and it just transitions so well. Floor Jansen showcases her talented singing, but also some of the male bandmates get their turn in the spotlight as well. Each song offers something different, and it all comes together to make this album their best project yet, and even though they really had big shoes to fill with their previous album Endless Forms Most Beautiful, I am confident they did that and then some.
Some of the standout tracks for me are “Music”, “Noise”, “Pan”, “How’s The Heart”, “Tribal” and “Endlessness”.
For those who are already fans of Nightwish or fans of symphonic metal, I definitely recommend checking this album out. It will meet your every expectation and then some. You can find it on Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, as well on the official Nuclear Blast website.
