The Death of Zenith: New Music, New Attitude(Review)

Quietly behind the scenes, Solunar Records mastermind The Death of Zenith has been laboring away on developing their newest album Planeta Vocum, and to show us they mean business as well as to give us a taste of what that might sound like, they released an EP with the most approriate title. It is called You Can Give Your Soul to Jesus, but Your Ass is Mine. They aren’t fooling around with this one.

Lock your doors and protect your families, dogs, cats, whatever is special to you because this EP is not safe. From the moment the interlude hits, there a sense of otherness, and with 6 tracks coming at you throwing cluster bombs, it will leave a smoking ash heap in its wake. It’s cyberpunk themed, and also continues the genre-fluidness with a combination of industrial, metal, trap metal, and hip hop. They brought in various guests from the underground scene such as the usual suspects Seethe and Demo Demon.

If there was a way to tease what they have cooking up for us, this EP was a way to do it. Each track offers something different, but this goes on a heavier note with the metal vibe as well as  vocals that will have the decibals rising at points. It’s a very hard to choose what the top tracks would be, but my picks are “Mine”, “The Ultimatum”, and “One Bad Day”.

The EP drops today, and you can stream/download it here. I would highly recommend giving it a listen, it will have you headbanging and punting things out of your way. I enjoyed it, and cant wait to hear what else they got in store once the full album comes out.
