Blood Creek(Review)

An obscure film caught my attention that was called Blood Creek. It had a stacked cast, and a pretty interesting premise. It wasnt half bad but it did get goofy at points.

The story is about two brothers who go seek revenge against a Nazi occultist and find themselves in a fight that seems impossible to win.

Michael Fassbender appears as the antagonist and this role was pretty on brand for him. You might initially think it’s a vampire film, but it’s something much more ancient and evil. They tied in Norse mythology into the mix as well. We also have a young Henry Cavill who plays one of the brothers. I will note that this is a Joel Schumacher film.

It gets gory at points, and there’s a great deal of action involved. The solution is to shoot everything even though they are told bullets have no effect. That’s not the goofy part though. That comes when one of the brothers puts on armor made of bones. It is supposed to be the villian’s Kryptonite. All you are hearing is the bones clacking in what is supposed to be a serious moment, and makes you want to laugh instead. To go further, the villian has been transformed, and through rituals he gains a third eye. You would think this would give him the ability to see any move coming but apparently not. For someone who is who supposed to be this brilliant Nazi occultist, he is rather dumb at times.

So we get to the climatic battle. They trick the creature, and subsequently are able to kill it off for good. The curse is broken. But the battle is not completely won as there are others Nazis out there. So they decide to hunt them all down.

If you decide to check Blood Creek out, it is currently streaming on Tubi. It’s quite entertaining for what it presented to us. This movie showed something different at least.
