You have to appreciate the underrated gems that as you watch it, you find yourself having fun doing so. Cry Wolf is an example of that sort of film.
The movie is about a British transfer student who finds himself involved in a deadly game and trying to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth before anyone gets killed.
One brilliant thing about the movie is it will keep you guessing all the way to the end. You have to feel bad for the protagonist as he finds himself in a situation way over his head even though he doesn’t even know it. One of the lines goes “You think you are smarter than you actually are”, and that is more or less true in this situation. He seems to enjoy having the edge over his peers to the point that anytime someone uses a line towards him, he will end up throwing that back at them in a later scene.
As the movie goes on, and you watch him go deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, the lesson the film seems to be teaching is to be careful who you trust. Betrayal can come from those you are close to you, even from someone that you love. Those with good hearts can be gullible, and the ending shows the worst that can happen in that situation.
I enjoyed this film, everything from the plot to the interaction of the actors. You can find this one on HBOMAX for you can check out yourself, which I highly recommend that you do so.
Till next time, stay scared!
