Doors in the Labyrinth is a postgoth/darkwave project of Pittsburgh based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Josh Loughrey, and he recently composed a track called “Forgiveness” for a compilation called Rhodium is the Metal produced by LIOC. This is the third volume of series of albums which pay homage to post industrial band Coil.
A few things to tell you about Doors in the Labyrinth is he has that stage presence and sense of theatrical presence, as well a dreamy quality to his singing that will instantly draw you in. That is definitely case here. Throughout the video, you watch as he displays various emotions as he croons to you about forgiving you but not being able to forgive himself, and it is makes for an ethereal emotional experience. The song itself is ambient atmospheric bliss, which is pretty much what you expect with much of his releases, and falls in line with a tribute to what Coil has produced in their storied career.
If you enjoyed what you heard, you can check out Josh’s track, as well as the rest of compilation here. Volume 1 and 2 are available on the LIOC Bandcamp page as well if you wanted to check those out.
Doors in the Labyrinth also has a album called In The Shadow of the Monolinth, and you can acquire that here. It comes highly recommended, so be sure to check that out.
