Today, I have something fresh and piping hot for you. A brand new project known as Hematite, which is southern gothic duo, has recently come to fruition and they are releasing their debut single known as “Adios”.
The song gets started with groovy guitar that makes the song one of those ones I can see people just feeling the vibe of. What makes this song different is the harsh vocal style, which usually is more common in the industrial genre. I thought that was neat because here you have this gentle, almost calming song, and you really wouldn’t expect the vocals to be the way they are. The video really hit home with me because it reminded me of a typical night out. You have a group of women who hit up a bar, drinking, playing pool and all kinds of shenanigans going on. Filtered in that is the band performing the music.

“Adios was the first or second song Andrew and I sat down with. He sent over an older demo version and by the time I had vocals on it, he’d already had a sicker version in my inbox. To me, it’s where it all started, where the vibes hit me and I was taken into this new journey. I’m excited to see the feeling ‘Adios’ gives folks who listen”
I enjoyed it because it takes the dark aspects of gothic rock and blends it in with a western style. I can see these being a huge hit with the goth crowd or even those who are into Southern Rock. It is something that stands out, that is for sure.
