Mortuary(1993)(Review)[Twisted Throwback Thursday]

There’s a weird unknown movie called Mortuary(1983), that you can definitely tell it is an 80s movie.

The movie is about a couple who are dating, and the girl, who suffered a tragic loss when get father suddenly died, keeps having nightmares and becomes convinced her father’s death was no accident and that her mother is hiding something.

In addition to that, there’s a hooded figure that is constantly stalking her. There’s also some strange things going on in the local mortuary involving the mortician and his son. The son, played by a very young Bill Paxton, is throwing off all kinds of creepy slimy vibes the moment he starts popping up.

It’s as if this director couldn’t decide what he was going for when making the movie. It starts off with a supernatural feel, then it turns into a slasher, and ends in a very off the wall way. Not saying the movie was bad, in fact it had some pretty gory kills. I will say I do suspect the hooded figure served as inspiration for the look of the Death character in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.

In all this was an entertaining horror movie, it is definitely all over the place, but you should enjoy it nevertheless. It is currently streaming on Shudder if you want to take a look at it.

Till next time, stay scared!!
