The Strangers(Review)

Thinking of horror movies that feature home invasions, the top one on many people’s lists is The Strangers. After seeing it, I can certainly understand why.

The story sees a couple who return back to their family vacation home and clearly not having a good time. Their night is about to get worse when three masked strangers show up intent on invading the home leading the two to struggle to survive the torments planned for them.

This movie definitely puts everything in a kettle and leaves it at a slow boil. Once the intruders show up, the tension ramps up to 11. The three masked strangers really enjoy playing with their food. Lot of what they do is psychological warfare. Which leads to the wrong person dying during the events.
It just get more and more intense as the movie goes on and leads to a very nail-biting conclusion. It’s an emotional hit to the gut and will leave you gasping.

This movie was very great with what it does from the setting and sound design. You hear every creak and bang. To the point, the sound will be enough to start grinding on your nerves. There’s a sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night which came with high recommendations as well with a third film planned to release in the future.
