Stream(2024)(Review) - Gruesome Gazette

This is one I been anticipating to watch for some time, and finally got around to doing so. I was not disappointed. Yeah, they could have trimmed the fat a bit, but it is a very fun film.

The plot sees a family that go to a hotel for a get away and find themselves unwillingly participants in a sick game.

The cast sees horror legends such as Dee Wallace, Bill Mosely, Jeffrey Combs, and one of the last appearances from Tony Todd. David Howard Thornton makes an appearance as one of the masked killers and you can tell he’s having a blast. This was made by the same people responsible for Terrifier so many of the people from those films make an appearance.

The kills are very gnarly, and go extreme as you would expect. One of my most memorable ones is the one I will call the Tic Tac Toe kill. The masks were cool, and they lit up. I’m a fan of Dead By Daylight so the killers reminded me of Legion. There’s a beefy one that reminded me of Trapper.

The story was good for what it was. I will say the weakest part of the movie was the dialogue and acting at times. The ending is where we get a big reveal but wait there is more with a mid credits scene. It seems they may be teasing a sequel but notice how the masked killer is in a wheelchair. That’s no coincidence. I won’t ruin it but if you watch the credits they ended up having a very special guest cameo.

In all, I enjoyed myself, and I would recommend checking it out. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
