Gruesome Gazette

Clown In A Cornfield(Blood and Greasepaint#2)(Review)

The theme of Clown in a Cornfield seemed to be a jack in a box and this latest horror movie featuring killer clowns played exactly like a jack in a box, knowing when to spring out and surprise people.

The story sees a young girl and her father move to the quiet town of Kettle Springs, only to learn its not so quiet especially with a murdererous clown named Frendo amongst their midst.

The kills are brutal but then you aren’t what to think with a clown that sounds like a dog toy every time they walk around. Now just when you think its just going to be one solitary clown people are dealing with here, that is not the case. We got multiples. You can say they formed a bit of a clown posse.

How about this movie turns a certain trope on its head. So yeah it plays out the same of new girl meets bad boy, they hook up, that sort of thing. But it doesn’t end the way I ou would think. Speaking of the ending, there’s a bit of a twist to it, and its all out clown carnage all around. But it shows that as the movie says “Don’t mess with Frendo”.

I really enjoyed this one, between the gore and the fact it went a direction I didnt expect it to go. It even had a dark humor element that really worked in its favor. There was definitely a door left wide opened for continued installments. It is currently streaming on Shudder if you want to check it out.
