Coherence(Review)[Twisted Throwback Thursday]

Alternate realities is something we seen films explore before and it is a very interesting concept. Usually these movies require multiple viewings to understand everything, and Coherence is no different.

The plot is about a group of people having a dinner party when a comet passes overhead and set off a chain of events that will change everyone and their reality as they know it.

When the movie starts, we start to learn of our characters and the atmosphere is very free flowing, almost like the viewer is a part of the gathering. Don’t get too comfortable though because it gets very chaotic and very confusing once the comet passes.

As the night passes, the characters start to realize different realities and that invaders from these realities are bleeding into their own reality. They become super paranoid and very distrusting, and the powderkeg that’s been building explodes in a huge way by the end.

This is very much a head scratcher and will take multiple visits to understand what is going on, and unless you are paying close attention, still may leave you puzzling out everything. I do tend to enjoy those movies that are enigmatic and make you think long after viewing them. If you are one of those types, Coherence will be right up your alley.
