Don’t Open Until Christmas(Review)[Twisted Throwback Thursday]

Holiday horrors can be a mixed bag, which is definitely the case with Don’t Open Until Christmas. It’s not good, and it’s not entirely awful, it’s just okay.

This is a British slasher from 1984 about a serial killer who targets anyone dressed as Santa Claus and murders them in various ways.

The kills are the most interesting part of the film. One of the first kills sees someone get speared right through the mouth. That sets the course of the rest of the movie as an inspector with the Scotland Yard tries to track the killer down.

There’s an exotic dancer who falls in the killer’s path, and he kidnaps her due to the fact she saw his face, and he plans to kill her before she will tell anyone else.

Now if you are wondering why exactly the killer is targeting everyone in a Santa suit, well it’s all a very involved revenge plot that involves something that happened during his childhood. The ending sees everything reach a boiling point.

There are better Christmas horrors out there, but if you are curious and want to see something you haven’t seen before, it is currently streaming on Shudder.

Till next time, have a safe and happy horrorday!!
