An always great thing about being a fan of the independent music scene is you can always count on being introduced to bands you may not know about. I was recently introduce to electro-industrial band known as Extize and boy was my mind blown. The fact that they make music I like was enough but the fact that they are making music based off of horror movies was enough to seal the deal.
I can go on for my hours of my love of the Evil Dead franchise and Bruce Campbell, so their single “Boomstick” won me over instantly. Besides the thumping beats of the song that make it easy to dance to, what really made this song special was the voice clips they included from the third Evil Dead movie Army of Darkness. The video includes winks and nods to scenes from that movie, and also includes a gender-bended Ash. And boy does she make slaying Deadites look sexy. As a horror fan plus a lover of the industrial genre, I can’t say enough of my love for this single. I wanted to hear more from them, and let’s say I am in luck.
So if you feel the same as I do, and you are like where can I hear more of this awesome music, you will be pleased to know they are planning to release an album known as MONSTARS which is an entire album of songs based off horror movies. You can preorder that bad baby here. It will be officially released September 30th, 2022.
You can check out even more from Extize via their official Bandcamp, Spotify, Youtube, and Facebook.
