Possum(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

There are those movies that seem unassuming at first and then just melt into pure nightmare fuel. Possum is one of those movies. Just buckle your safety belts because this movie is one wild ride.

The plot sees a disgraced puppeteer who returns to his childhood home to confront his stepfather and the dark past between them.

So as it starts, we see reality blending with nightmares. The main protagonist is not well, which is evidenced by his dark dreams and bizarre hallucinations. They get worse as the movie goes on and one particular is so mentally disturbing you might find yourself cowering behind a pillow.

Then we go onto that matter of the stepfather. He is freaking evil. I mean his look in itself. The way he badgers the main character. The man is a monster. So it makes sense that the terrors the main character experiences involve a monster. A monster that is an amalgamation between man and spider. That thing is terrifying and very eldritch. Turns out there is connection between the stepfather and the monster which see the protagonist finally conquering his fears.

I would recommend this one but will emphasize it is not for the faint of heart. There’s a high probability it will give you nightmares. It is currently streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime if you feel you are wanting to be brave.
