Renfield(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

Oh man, Renfield is absolutely one of my top favorites. It is kinetic, Cage is perfect in the role of Dracula, and the gore levels are over the top.

The plot is about the titular Renfield who decides he had enough of eternal servitude to his master Dracula, and decides to attempt to make life on his own terms. But some things aren’t that easy to escape.
The practical and makeup effects in this film are amazing. Nicolas Cage just takes the role of Dracula, adds his own manic touch to it, and just is the best part of the movie. There’s an unexpected surprise connection that this movie contains which is revealed in the opening scenes and it is a really cool Easter egg that will reward long time horror fans.

Then there is the insane levels of violence and gore. We see people’s heads get punched off, people getting straight up mutilated, and just blood everywhere especially when Dracula is on the attack. Oh yeah, he is vicious. Don’t expect the romantized vampire wooing various women here. No, this is a different breed.
Is Renfield actually able to escape his master’s thrall?? You will have to watch it for yourself to find out!! It is still in theaters or you can see on demand. I highly highly recommend checking this one out because you don’t know what you are missing!
