Scare Package II: Rad Chad's Revenge(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

Kicking off the first review of 2023 with a juicy one. Scare Package was a sleeper hit full of horror movie spoofs and lots of gore. The sequel Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge continues that trend and packs in the horror movie spoofs to the brim.

This movie highly spoofs Saw this time around as the attendees of the funeral of Rad Chad are put through traps they have to escape

There are four shorts, “Welcome to the 90s”, “The Night He Came Back Again! Part VI: The Night She Came Back”, “Special Edition”, and “We’re So Dead”. Each of them are full of spoofs and are so meta that it isn’t funny. There are even callbacks to the first film’s segments. Out of all them, the last segment was my favorite because it combines Stephen King with Re-Animator and The Fly which sounds completely bonkers and it just goes with it.

The wrap around is completely insane as well, what I found most amusing is how Jeremy King makes his return is a totally different role as well as returning to the character of Rad Chad. Also because it spoofs Saw, it completely pulls a twist ending which then mocks how the twist endings of Saw make no sense. We also see some Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Aliens is thrown into the mix. Some other characters from the first film also make an appearance.

Just like the first film, the second film is completely fun and does not hold back on the humor and gore. There is a special cameo appearance just like the first one as well. Stay tuned after the credits for some extra scenes and it looks like they are teasing a third entry which I am all for it.
