For an independent film to overcome a Hollywood movie to become number one in the country. you know that should be reason enough to know Terrifier 3 is very amazing film. Art The Clown has become an icon, even having Spirit Halloween making himself big part of their theme this year. There is a lot of buzz of the graphic violence being enough to make people pass out or leave. It even got banned in France.
So let’s take a look to see what the latest entry brings us
The plot sees Art terrifying the citizens of Miles County only this time it’s during Christmas. Sienna and Jonathan are trying to rebuild their lives, however Sienna learns she can’t escape her destiny of being the only one who can stop him.
So if you survive the opening, we jump back in time to show how Art is walking around again. My theory was correct as how Art acquires a body again as last we seen him he was just a head. But the way it played out was definitely not what I expected.
Then there’s a five year time jump where next time we see Art he is shrouded in spiderwebs. That dude has patience to just sit that long.
As far as the kills, there are three that I could see that were brutal and extreme. Actually let’s make that four because yeah no one is safe. Not even the animals are safe. I felt very bad about the rats.
We get more of deep dive into the past of Sienna and her father. She’s going through some stuff and yet she still accepts her destiny. Jonathan is more concerned with having a normal life and going to college.
What makes Art stand apart is he is completely silent however we can tell how he is feeling based on his facial expressions. He expresses childlike joy in meeting Santa. Or you can tell when he gets fed up with people’s shit. He will have you going between laughing and gagging.
And the ending is just as brutal as the beginning but leaves things open for a new entry which has been confirmed is in the works.
I tried to skimp on giving too many details as that is going to be a discussion for another time(wink wink nudge nudge), but yeah definitely another solid entry in the franchise. It will become synonymous with Christmas with people adding it to their lists of favorite holiday movies. My personal opinion I liked part 2 better. Part 3 definitely amps up the violence and Art is better than ever. Just questionable character choices was the only thing that didn’t sit right with me.
Terrifier 3 is currently playing in theatre’s worldwide. Whether you are a newcomer or already a fan of the franchise you will definitely have a very good time. Those with weak stomachs, bring a barf bag in tow.
