The Brain is one of those horror movies that is simplistic, and is what would call a popcorn flick. The movie is about a giant brain that is hypnotizing everyone via television, and one teen that discovers what is happening and tries to put a stop to it.
The creature design of the monstrous brain is pretty terrifying. You may recognize the doctor helping the creature as he plays Dr Hill in Re-Animator. His assistant would go on to play a deranged Santa in A Christmas Horror Story. The hero of the movie must battle against everyone who just sees him a menace, even a love interest ends up turned against him. The ending is ambigious as you think you see him win the day, but it could just end up being The Brain manipulating him.
This movie is classic 80’s horror at it best, though it is pretty obscure. You can check out the movie for yourself on Prime Video, which I do recommend doing so.
