Invisible Raptor(Review)

What if Jurassic Park had an invisible raptor on the loose? That’s essentially what Invisible Raptor is about, and I had a good feeling when I went into it. It’s definitely a love letter to Jurassic Park and its fun as hell.

The plot is about a top secret project that engineers a velociraptor they even say they did it the same way that Jurassic Park did it, except they turn it invisible. It gets loose and it is up to a trip of unlikely heroes to try to stop it from eating everyone in its path.

This movie doesn’t even try playing it straight which is definitely a bonus. There’s a lot of crude humor, that’s my only complaint because it gets repetitive. Other than that, it’s a really fun time.

What I didn’t expect was all the Easter Eggs, I mean there’s a lot you will notice from Jurassic Park. But there’s a cute reference to E.T as well. Sean Astin from Goonies and Lord of the Rings has a cameo appearance. And the main character is named Grant and dresses just like Dr Alan Grant from Jurassic Park. He even carries a raptor claw around.

The kills are absolutely brutal just watching people be ripped apart. You don’t actually see the raptor except for a few scenes. There are genuine laugh out loud moments. Another bonus point is it references Gremlins. This movie was meant as an homage to Stephen Spielberg and it shows. The ending even references Jaws. It goes out with a literal bang. Double entredre absolutely applies.

Definitely if you like those horror comedies that you can’t predict where it will go, this is the movie for you. I enjoyed it. If you want to see for yourself,it is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Jurassic Park fans will definitely appreciate this one.
