Gruesome Gazette

V/H/S Halloween(Blood and Greasepaint#1)(Review)

Halloween specials are usually the best where everything gets thrown out the window and spooky levels are turned to 11. It is no different with the latest in the V/H/S franchise subtitled Halloween. Its full of both tricks and treats.

The wrap around is fun involving testing something called Diet Phantasma on people. It doesnt go well as expected.

You get your first drop of the needle with opener called “Coochie Coochie Coo” that will leave you squirming and wanting to vomit. Now if you haven’t recovered from that, then you’re hit by “Fun Size” that will remind of those games like Poppy’s Play Time. It’s just never let’s up. Teaches a lesson of only taking one piece of candy. That scene will almost make you want to vomit as well.

It fizzled out a bit with “Kidprint”, I mean it didn’t seem that much not compared to what came before it. Then they save best for last with “Home Haunt” a lesson in taking things that aren’t yours.

Everything is bloody, dripping, oozing, and if goes for the extreme. They keep it all found footage, and its just fantastic with the effects. Even though just one segment falls short, it still manages to leave a big dopey grin on the average horror fan’s face. I would say this is another strong entry in the franchise, and hell they could just keep this going. Why not go V/H/S Christmas next?

This film is currently streaming on Shudder and is such a thrill to watch. If you already seen V/H/S HALLOWEEN, what did you feel about it? Let us know in the comments below!
