Sleepwalkers(King-Sized Horror)(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

Sleepwalkers is a rare Stephen King movie not based on any book or stories, and it is a very wild ride. With big names in the cast as well as cameos from horror legends such as Clive Barker and Joe Dante, this had much potential to go big.

The plot is about a pair of shape-shifting incestuous nomadic beings who feed on the life-force of female virgins to survive.

So yeah, this movie is very fun, especially when the beings start to show their true form. This was directed by Mick Garris who was a frequent collaborator with King, and knew how to bring his vision to life. It gets pretty gross with the gore, practical effects and the already mentioned incest. But it is very much a Stephen King movie through and through.

Alice Krige plays the role of the matriarch of the species and she absolutely kills it. Her “son” gets injured in his attempts to seduce the local sweetheart Tanya, and she just goes on a tear, taking her revenge on those responsibilities. But any creature has a weakness, and you never thought death by cats would be a scene you would see, but boy is it one when it happens.

Definitely enjoy this one and for some reason, it has a special place in my heart because it’s just so weird, yet the casting is top notch. You can find it streaming on Pluto or rent it on VOD and Amazon Prime.
