Gruesome Gazette

Stitches(2012)(Blood and Greasepaint#4)(Review)

British comedy is zany, and it gets pretty raunchy, so if you pair that with one vulgar clown then you get Stitches.

The plot sees Stitches get into a freak accident at a kid’s birthday party and ends up dying. He gets resurrected later and immediately goes on a warpath to get his revenge.

Right away, the movie hits you with the vulgarness you can expect and it does not stop there. Its going to get worse before it gets better. There’s definitely a kinetic energy about as if you don’t know what to expect to happen next. That’s exactly where it goes.

There’s a clown cult, and instead of the normal chanting, all you hear is an ominous “he he he, ha ha ha”. I mean they really put a lot of thought into this cult. We find out clowns contain their essence in eggs. Why eggs, I dont know.

There are some sweet moments the main protagonist has a cute meet with a girl so it takes a bit before we get to the killer clown. But we do get to see where the boy has a fever dream. You thought it was bad when Art started shooting people up in a dream? This dream is worse than that. There’s other fever dreams but the first one. It will make people cross their legs thats for sure.

They all decide to have a party and everyone is being a dick to the protagonist. Then Stitches shows up. He comes with a whole bunch of one liners that end up being visual gags. The kills are brutal as fuck. No one is safe, not even a cat. It seems everyone is doomed until the cure couple from before figure out the secret mysticism of clowns that leads to a way to stop Stitches before he kills them too.

What was this movie? It was definitely all over the place and it seemed it wanted to really gross you out. Between the blood, shit and various fluids flying around. Oh this movie was also very horny. Some of the ways people were killed was definitely over the top, like one scene this poor guy, it just kept going. Needless to say, I loved every minute of it. Its very low budget, very British, and it’s something else. You can find it streaming on Tubi.
