Carved(2024)(Happy Halloween #27)(Review)

In case you ever wanted to see a mutated pumpkin come to life and go on an absolute rampage, Carved is an absolute joy ride. It’s surprisingly very gory as far as the kills are concerned.

So the story sees a group trapped in a historical reenactment village and ends up battling a mutant pumpkin out for revenge.

And yeah this pumpkin can use his multiple vines to use humans as puppets. It’s interesting seeing the design of the pumpkin and seeing how it operates. Then it’s disclosed that the pumpkin is female.
We get clues as to what led to the mutation of the pumpkin. We understand it’s need for vengeance. And it’s very bloody. Many beheadings.

Film is pretty fun watching the action of the pumpkin going after it’s victims. The ending shows the remaining survivors struggle to put it all to an end only to find out the pumpkin has already spawned. We get an epilogue to show the mutant pumpkin menace is ended once and for all.

I liked it. It was goofy. Definitely an horror comedy. The pumpkin looked like something with a touch of Evil Dead but was definitely a vicious threat. This film is currently streaming on Hulu if you want to check it out. Fun fact this movie was a product of a short film of the same name from 2018.
