Every horror movie will eventually get the sequel treatment. It stands to reason that applies to albums based on horror movies. Ice Nine Kills decided to release a followup to their album The Silver Scream. Is it as good as the first? For the most part, it is, serving as the perfect companion album and doing some things better than before.
Containing 14 tracks, it follows the same concept of most tracks being based on horror movies such as Child’s Play, American Psycho, Hellraiser, Evil Dead, and more. Some of the tracks don’t exactly land(see “Assault and Batteries), but for the most part this is a solid album. It is definitely more polished, and the featured artists add a nice touch as well. I love the fact that they still include sound clips or motifs of the horror films they are singing about.
This album is one of their heaviest to date, and any horror and/or metal fan will eat it right up. Some of the highlights of the album are songs such as “Rainy Day”, “Hip To Be Scared”, “Take Your Pick, and “Ex-Mortis”. Take a listen to the track below to get a taste of what you will be in for:
It is available on all platforms as well as physical copies, highly recommended to give it a listen as well as adding it your collection.
Till next time, stay scared!!
