Twisted Nerve is a psychological horror film that was released in 1968, and was scored by Bernard Herrmann, the same person who scored the original Psycho movie.
It’s the theme song of this movie that is the most iconic for good reason. It takes whistling and turns it into a thing of dread. It’s a song that will pervade your thoughts and never leave. It’s effect is so much that it was used in the movie Kill Bill, and the American Horror Story series. Just take a listen below to understand just how terrifying it can be:
Due to its popularity in horror, I am certain at some point you may have heard this song, but if not, you definitely need to give it a listen. Herrmann is such a good composer where he can set the mood and atmosphere, and the Twisted Nerve theme is a good example of that.
