Nothing But Trouble(Review)[Twisted Throwback Thursday]

I had a few friends who clued me in on the horror comedy Nothing But Trouble but I haven’t gotten around to seeing it until recently. It is such a wacky film from the mind of Dan Aykroyd and boasted a stellar cast with Aykroyd playing the sadistic judge along with appearances from Chevy Chase, Demi Moore and John Candy.

The movie is about a businessman who goes on a cross-country trip with a group of his rich friends, and they all end up being taken hostage by a cruel judge and his bizarre family.

This is one of those movies where you are subjected to so many odd things, and it turns into a cult classic for you. It’s funny as well, but definitely out of the ordinary. Just as an example, in one scene we see a cameo from Digital Underground along with 2Pac, and they end up performing a song for the judge who adds his own musical performance as well. The makeup effects of the judge made him look very grotesque. Fun fact is Dan Aykroyd plays different roles within the family as well, which includes a sister.

Now I can see why this one came up in conversations as it is just so wacky with out of nowhere moments. There was so much to enjoy about the film, and I was glad to finally see what the hype is about. It’s hard to pick out a favorite moment from the film, but I will say the dinner scene that comes complete with a toy train that shoots pickles at the dinner guests ranks high on the list.

Nothing But Trouble is currently streaming on HBOMAX so if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend taking the opportunity to do so. Heck even if you want to revisit the movie as it is one of those you can watch again and still enjoy it everytime.

Till next time, stay scared!
